AI Football Analysis From Suitable Phone Footage

Pitchside uses computer vision to help identify supported football events from small-sided match recordings.

AI Football Analysis From Suitable Phone Footage

AI football analysis uses computer vision and machine learning to process football footage, identify supported visual events and organise the result for review. Pitchside focuses on phone-recorded 5-a-side, 6-a-side and 7-a-side matches. It can reduce search work, but footage quality, visibility and model limits mean every important event and player assignment still needs review.

Pitchside is currently in private beta. Subscriptions are not available to purchase yet, and supported output depends on suitable footage, camera position and the beta workflow.

Computer vision capability

The beta is testing event recognition and player assignment from phone-recorded 5-, 6- and 7-a-side football. The workflow is designed to return stats and moments that can be reviewed, not unchangeable final results.

Limits that affect output

  • Low camera height
  • Players blocking the lens
  • Similar kits
  • Poor lighting
  • Rain or glare
  • Excessive zoom
  • Unstable mounting

Human review stays important

Review detected events and player assignments before using the match record for team decisions or public sharing.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is AI football analysis?
It is the use of computer vision and machine learning to process football footage, identify supported visual events and organise the output into information people can review.
Does Pitchside understand tactics?
Do not claim tactical understanding unless a specific, tested feature exists. The current launch product is centred on supported match events, stats, highlights, leaderboards and personal output.
Is every detected event correct?
No. Recording quality, visibility and current model capability affect the result. Private beta output should be reviewed.
Does Pitchside identify every player automatically?
Player assignment is part of the developing workflow, but similar kits, distance, obstructions and crowded scenes can cause uncertainty. Describe only the identification method and review flow that are live in the current product.
How long does processing take?
During private beta, upload and processing can currently take up to 45 minutes. The exact time can vary with connection speed, recording length and the current workflow.
